Contemporary Israeli Music for Equal Voices

This workshop deals with contemporary Israeli compositions to ancient and contemporary secular and sacred texts. In the workshop the conductor, Anat Morahg together with her Bat-Kol Girls' Choir, will share with the audience the singing of selected works of contemporary Israeli repertoire. Each piece represents a different style. The audience will be exposed and will experience different musical, rhythmic and vocal production for each piece, in altered vocal colors for the different texts:

- A composition of a contemporary Israeli composer to text out of the Siddur (the Jewish prayer book –2nd century AD).
- Sapari Tamo – a modern arrangement for four voices to a traditional folk melody to a liturgical Yemenite-Jewish text (17th century AD).
- A modern Israeli song.

In addition, as part of the workshop, the Bat-Kol Girls' Choir will perform additional Jewish and Israeli songs and compositions.
